From Etsy purchase to printable files — here's exactly what happens, when it happens, and what you need to do.
Choose the tier that fits your group size and desired complexity — Mini Mystery (6–8 players), Signature Dinner Mystery (8–12 players), or Premium Immersive Mystery (10–14 players). Purchase the listing on Etsy.
After purchase, Etsy will send you a message with a link to your custom intake form. You can also access it directly at plottwistparties.com/intake using your Etsy order number.
This is where the magic starts. The intake form collects everything we need to write a game that feels like it was made specifically for your group — because it was.
The form has four sections and takes about 20–30 minutes to complete. You can save your progress and return to it anytime before submitting.
The more detail you give, the better the game. Vague answers produce generic characters. Specific answers produce a game your guests will talk about for years. We're not exaggerating — we've seen it happen.
Once your intake is submitted, our team gets to work. We use your details to generate a complete custom mystery — storyline, characters, clues, secrets, timeline, and reveal — then review it for quality, consistency, and tone before it ever reaches you.
You'll receive an email with a link to your customer portal where you can download your complete ZIP package. The ZIP is organized into clearly labeled folders so you know exactly what to print and what to keep secret.
Read the host guide before the party. Print character booklets individually — each player gets only their own. Seal the secret cards in envelopes. Set out the clue cards. Then let your guests arrive, hand out their booklets, and watch the accusations begin.
Important: The host guide, secret cards, and final reveal script should never be shared with players before or during the game. These files contain the solution. Keep them separate, print them privately, and guard them with your life. Or at least with a locked drawer.
Timing depends on your tier and how quickly you submit a complete intake form. The clock starts when we receive your completed submission — not when you purchase.

We recommend submitting your intake form at least 7–10 days before your party date to allow time for delivery, printing, and any revisions. Rush orders are possible but not guaranteed — please plan ahead.
Have your Etsy order number ready. The form saves your progress automatically, so you can take breaks and come back.
